Part Two...

Okay! I basically spent my whole sick day painting and I finished January concentration piece number two! Only12 hours late! Just a reminder, my concentration is the abstract representation of movement:

  1. oh my gosh this is so cool! you can tell exactly what it is even though it is still completely abstract. I like the color scheme of this. It is muted yet still very elegant. I like how aspects of it (within the face and tutu) are fuzzy and faded in. It is not all sharp lines. I think the other piece could use more of this blending. Very nice.

  2. I totally agree with Monet. This piece is really interesting in a sense that you are blurring the image, but at the same time make it descriptive. One thing I have to say about the piece is that the leg in the back is kind of competing with the whole body. So maybe make that leg a little shadier than it is right now.

  3. Eva, this is beautiful! I love how abstracted and dreamlike it is. The value on the face is really nice, as well as all of the organic shapes scattered throughout the tutu. The one thing I might say is maybe add a little more shading on the vertical arm, but really nice job! I like your color scheme, too.

On the other piece you did, it might be good to push the value a little more. The horizontal strokes in the background really make the figure seem as if she is flying forward through space.

  4. I AGREE WITH AMY--> its very dreamlike and the warm browns make it have this soft effect that makes it really movementy! its hard to explain so sorry if that didnt make sense..

i also really like that you payed attention to the background--at least it feels like just as much as the foreground. the horizontal lines makeeee this :)
