Struggle

So I am currently in my hotel room in Grinnell, Iowa, home of Grinnell college. It is possibly the smallest town ever and is located right in the middle of miles and miles of cornfields. Unfortunately the college is on spring break so all the buildings are locked and there are only about ten students on campus. Not to mention the fact that the wifi at this hotel is super questionable. So writing this blog post is a struggle to say the least. I hope everyone enjoys it. Can't wait to be back in art!! See you in a few days!

National Scholastic Art Awards

Yesterday the National Scholastic Art Awards were announced. I got a gold key for my "Layers of Pain" piece on domestic violence. It's a painting I did in Art 3/4 for the social commentary project. I am pretty proud of it but I'm still shocked that it did so well! And, it turns out, that all the national award recipients are invited to a ceremony at Carnegie Hall in New York! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I will be able to go to that! I've never been to New York and I would love to spend a few days there. Metropolitan Museum of Art, anyone?
