January Concentration

To be completely honest, January was an awful month. And, to make it worse, I only finished one concentration piece. I am still working on the second piece because I decided it would be better to turn in something I was happy with, even if it was a few days late. So I am sorry, Mrs. Mcbride and AP Art classmates, but I promise it will be done ASAP. For now, here is my first January concentration piece (my concentration is the abstract representation of movement):

  1. eva this turned out great! I like that it is different from the other art that you have done, but I can definitely still tell that it is motion. If I have to make one suggestion-- I will say that the black is kind of distracting, its the very first thing I look at. But, if you like this emphasis, then go with it! overall I think its really good

  2. eva-
i love the disclaimer at the beginning, but it is not needed! i actually really like this piece. i think it would be interesting to see it turned on its side with the black on the top though...i dont know if that makes it to similar to your other work, but i think it has a stronger composition that way. and I LOVE your second piece. it might be my favorite that you have done so far. i also really like that you used a different color pallet this month!

  3. Not a critique, but...I think you should try out charcoal to switch it up. I think it would work really well and you could have fun earsing and making movekent and volume with the value. Good job. Keep it up.

  4. The colors in this piece are magnificent. I can tell you really made sure they worked together. I think you could push the value a bit to add some depth. Maybe incorporate some translucent layers, those worked really well in your previous pieces. Nice work Eva!

  5. im loving the abstract movement your working with, it is super fun and interesting to look at and take apart. maybe work with brighter contrasting colors for one and you might get a sick pop art kinda feel, but overall i love em!!
